Humongous players like Hyundai and Tata as its opponent, the French automobile company Citreon has launched its first mass-market product, C3, in India. Pricing from 5.71 lakh to 8.06 lakh, the C3 model was already in pre-booking from June on the Citroen official website.
A glimpse of its engine
The C3 is a fully petrol-based engine, which comes in two variants the “naturally aspirated unit” and the turbo-petrol unit.
The “naturally aspirated unit”, also known as the “Puretech 82 variant“, comes with a 1.2l five-speed manual transmission jam-packed with 82 horsepower three-cylinders. Certifications express the Puretech 82 unit to provide a mileage of 19.8km/l.
The “turbo unit”, also named as “Puretech 110 variant“, is aimed to provide better performance than the previous variant. It includes a 1.2l six-speed manual transmission paired with 110 horsepower three-cylinders. As with an increase in power, this unit shows a minimal difference in fuel efficiency with 19.44km/l mileage.
Colour combinations that have never been offered by anyone yet
The crazy 56-color combination offer, this automobile represents a unique image in the market.
34 monochromatic body colors are available from the company, including Polar White, Zesty Orange, Platinum Grey, and Steel Grey.
In addition to the monotone option, the dual-tone option offers much more creativity to the body. Numerous combinations are possible, such as Polar white and Zesty orange as well as Steel Grey and Platinum Grey.
Features of this magnificent SUV
This new Citroen C3 provides much more options than an SUV stands for. The entertainment module is a large 10-inch touchscreen matched with a four-speaker system. The display is said to support Android Auto and Apple Carplay.
Diving into the interiors, we can see multiple charging ports present in the rear and back. Safety aspects of the car include a dual airbag system, seatbelt reminder, and rear parking sensor.
Aesthetics of the automobile
Designs like a high bonnet, split headlights, and extended chrome chevrons make the car never disabuse its outer look. Opening the gate, we can see the front skid plate touched with a lean muscle interior, making a match. Even if it’s an SUV, its road presence creates a different stylish aura due to its aesthetics.
A different way of selling
The company has commenced selling the Citroen C3 out of its PHYGITAL mechanism rather than the physical showrooms method. The online process starts with depositing 21000 INR as the booking fee and continues with PHYGITAL showrooms, a combination of physical and digital, spanning across 19 cities of India.
The company states that other areas would be covered online, where the car would be home-delivered directly from the factory.
Final Judgment
The Citroen C3 covers many things at this price point, even after being an SUV. However, it has some demerits like not including features like window defogger, the central button for locking the doors, and a rear windscreen wiper.
Being in the same price range, the Citroen C3 competes with manual versions of Tata Punch and Maruti Suzuki Ignis. It still stands out in the contest of their engine, as the punch and Ignis don’t have the turbo petrol engine.
Coming to an end, choosing it to buy might not gain many advantages over other contesters. Still, Citroen being a new player, we can expect a lot to come in the future.
