How does this feature actually work?
For the user who wants to Co-Tweet with the co-author first, the invitation needs to be initiated and the co-author needs to accept the request, once this process is done then the tweet will be posted on both author’s profile and the timeline of their followers.
The post will have the profile pictures of both authors at the top, and the first author to invite comments will be able to respond to them.
Both authors of the post have access to the likes and comments, allowing us to combine our opinions and take positions on each other’s decisions.

Though there is a wide talk about this new feature, the availability is permitted to only selected users, and the company also vocalized that “At the end of this experiment, we may turn off this feature and any co-tweets that were created may be removed”, and it is not guaranteed that this feature will create a platform or not, but for now this feature remains uncertain to the Twitter users.
Josep J Nunez spokesperson of Twitter said that the company is continuously working to explore new ways and features for the users to get together on Twitter and testing the reactions of the users to the new changes and how they are learning to collaborate.
