Tesla, one of the market’s leading EV-producing companies has recently revealed the company’s CEO’s vision of producing the next generation batteries which are expected to be the best in all aspects of the market.
The expected cause is believed to be due to the global chip shortage and the un -expertise in exploring the new technologies by the workers.
The company though has shown full support and reliance on the suppliers to produce the innovative product batteries by the end of this year.
Why are these batteries so important when already Li-ion batteries are readily available in the market?
Batteries are the most vital component in an EV and hence they are indeed expensive. The cost of buying the batteries from their manufacturers adds to the overall cost of the EV, thus making it more expensive.
Tesla is the only company that makes its own batteries for the supermodel Tesla EVs enabling the brand to cutting down production costs and also popularise the supremo EV among people.
The major problem right now is year approaching an end, the time left for the production of the batteries is seemingly less and thus, making the company worry to fasten their innovation production.
The new batteries are 46 mm in diameter and 80 mm in height and are being marketed under the 4680. They are larger in comparison to the 2170 batteries and more cost-efficient and also are capable of holding more energy output than the 2170 batteries.
Tesla is looking to develop new batteries using a new standard of the experiment manufacturing process(dry battery electrode).
The company’s CEO, Elon Musk feels that their new generation batteries are vital to the growth of their company as well as the EV market globally.
He believes Tesla’s vehicle production ramp-up would be at risk if they fail to solve its 4680 manufacturing test cases. Right now, this issue won’t affect their sales because no one would preach out of buying a vehicle that comes with 4680.
The coming few months will be a testament of Elon Musk’s integrity over his new innovation.
