We often face some medical emergencies or unable to visit the doctor’s clinic for a regular consultation due to an outstation tour, traffic in the city, busy schedules, or many more.
As a result, unlike other food delivery apps or any other, this startup developed an online doctor’s consultation to address health issues as well as an e-commerce platform.
The First OPD
DocsApp started providing the consultations remotely in July 2015 in Bangalore, Karnataka and is a privately held company by the Alumni from IIT Madras, Mr. Satish Kannan and Mr. Enbasekar Dinadayalane.
This online platform is an ISO-certified application being operated by Phasorz Technologies Pvt. Ltd.
The Consultation Pattern
The DocsApp is an online consultation that helps patients reach the doctor’s doorstep with just one click; more elaborately, the consultation is through chat or call from anywhere with no restrictions on time.
The most effective part is that the medical queries are being attended to within 30 minutes, as is the ease of ordering medicines and booking diagnostic tests using this application.
Fund for providing the consultation
DocsApp doctors are provided funds worth $8 million in a new funding tranche led by JAFCO Asia Tech and Team Fund LP.
The startup, in its well- being has issued preference shares in the B and E series funding round, including the investors like Bessemer India, Rebright partners, and Mill ways Fund.
Effective Merger
Coming up to the mission, every startup has certain plans, and the aim is just to provide the audience with something better each operating day; recently, DocsApp merged with Medibuddy (a digital consumer health business) to make the services more effective and reliable.
The merger was done on 4th June 2020, and the aforesaid funds and issuance of shares were made a post a couple of mergers, and the joint entity raised $20 Million in series B funding.
The Virtual Doctor’s Future
Currently, there are a team of 90,000 doctors, 3000 diagnostic centers, 7000 hospitals, and 2500 pharmacies at the virtual hospital. The DocsApp Medibuddy aims to provide every Indian with a quality healthcare facility, planning to expand in all parts of India.
To be in the front-runners, DocsApp is planning to reach the remotest part of India with a target of 1 lakh people every day. In an interview, the co-founder talks about the second phase of growth.
The Final Prescription (Conclusion)
DocsApp, taking the first-mover advantage in the competitive market, has taken the risky yet very beneficial, reliable channel between the patients and doctors, keeping in purview and removing the physical boundaries.
Also, post-merger, the startup has focused more on collaborations to build a virtual hospital, making access very easy. DocsApp is giving the new era of hospitalization and a next-level medical experience.
With the help of DocsApp, the world is welcomed by every specialized doctor and consultant who also gives a change pattern to both ends.
