Team India registered a win in the first T20I 5-match series against West Indies. Rohit Sharma was the highest scorer from both sides, while Dinesh Karthik played an outstanding inning.
Captain Rohit took the team out of turmoil
After winning the toss WI captain Nicholas Pooran opted to bowl first, the pitch was not the easiest one to play on, and the ball was not coming nicely on the bat.
The search for an opener continued for team India; this time, Surya Kumar Yadav joined the Rohit as an opener. The duo started well and India was off to a good start before Akeal Hosein dismissed Surya at the score of 24.
Indian Batting Loosing Track
After the dismissal of Surya Shreyas came at no. 3 and departed without scoring in the very next over. After that Rishabh Pant was dismissed at a score of 14 and Hardik Pandya managed to score only 1 run.

Rohit scored 64 in just 44 deliveries including 7 boundaries and 2 maximums before he was dismissed by Jason Holder leaving India at the score of 127 runs at the loss of 5 wickets.
The DK Show
Dinesh Karthik is the oldest player in this Indian side and the most explosive one as well. The role of finisher given to DK is suiting him really well and he showed that once again yesterday.
Dinesh Karthik scored a blistering 44 runs off just 19 balls he faced including 4 boundaries and 2 maximums.
The inning from DK took past the par score as team India finished at the total of 190 at the loss of 6 wickets, which turned out to be a lot for the hosts.

After the fall of the first wicket, it turned out to be the same story for WI as no other player looked settled. Indian bowlers picked the wickets at regular intervals.
From the West Indies side, it was Shamarh Brooks who managed to score 20 runs other than him no batsman was able to score more than this.
Indian Bowlers Enjoyed the Condition
The target of 191 looked unachievable for West Indies and Rohit Sharma was able to test his bowlers. The Indian spinners took full advantage of the pitch the WI condition.
Ravi Ashwin who was making his comeback in this Indian side picked 2 wickets and the Ravi Bishnoi the wrist spinner also joined Ash by picking up 2 wickets.
From the pacers, Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled only 2 overs but managed to pick a wicket while the newcomer Arshdeep Singh picked up 2 wickets.
