Youtube provides two new features that lead to inspiring and creditable health information for Indian users. And they are bringing two new features to the Indian marketplace.
So they are the “Health Source Information Panel” and the “Health Content Shelves,” and they will now be in English and Hindi for Indian users.
Health-related misinformation, as well as credible videos, are the focus of these features. It is already available in the US. And there are other countries where these two features are rising, such as the Brazilian and Japanese markets.
The Two New Features
When users search for particular topics like breast cancer or stroke, about their health and their condition, the ‘Health Source Information panel’ will show videos from accredited health organizations and government entities.
The concept is to provide them with more context and help them identify videos from authoritative sources.
The “health content shelves” is a more effective feature that highlights videos from an authoritative source when users search for specific topics.
This will include videos from accredited health organizations and government entities, and according to YouTube, these shelves are designed to be visually separated and contain highly authoritative videos.
Their Mission
They are providing proper access to high-quality and authoritative health information that will be based on evidence.
But this is equally important and it has to be culturally suitable and alluring. And this reinforces our efforts to work on medical misinformation.
Dr. Garth Graham serves as the director and global head of healthcare and public health.
They will build on search on platforms and the information of the disease from WHO to resolve the health related conditions. Conditions such as lung cancer, breast cancer, cervical cancer, lymphoma, stroke, and oral cancer, among many others, will be covered.
These two features will extend to more health concerns in the future.
