If the world is still in the 5G phase and some people are using 3G and 4G, what is the point of 6G and 7G?
How can they be useful in comparison to the current phase?
We have managed to develop from 1G to 5G within a very short period, and then 6G and 7G are just a natural progression to the better way of wireless connectivity.
There was a ten-year gap between one G and the next if you compare both the distribution and the market uptake and its demise in this way.
There will be mass adoption of 5G in the first part of the next decade, then 6G should come after 10 years, which is in 2035, and then we can expect the rise of 7G in the market, which can be estimated in the year 2045.
Benefits of 6G & 7G
Every technology or use of any network in 5G will be better in 6G. There will be an advancement in every single thing that you are using on 5G.
They are interconnected with more VR and AR, farms, cities, and AI working in factories and at our fingertips. There will be more support and advanced improvement in every sector in 6G, and more brand width will be provided, which will lead to expanded innovation in the future.
Coming to 7G, what’s more, there will be like high data coverage capacity or bandwidth no matter how many tasks you asses to it there will be no issue, 7G will appear even better than we think.
Marcus Weldon of Nokia Bell Labs said that there will be like biology meeting AI and experiencing a sixth sense for humans and machines.
What is lacking in 5G can 6G overcome it
- 5G is better in performance than 4G, in the same way, there will be speed and latency differences between 5G and 6G. Speed will be immense in 6G compared to 5G.
- The capacity of 6G is 50×100 higher than compared to the 5G network. For every square kilometer, 5G has to support 1 million devices, whereas 6G can support 10 million devices.
- Coming to the speed, we can’t say anything now about 6G. Compared to 5G, there is 1 Gbps, which will be topped by 6G, maybe we can see hundreds of Gbps or even ranges in terabytes. This is the only expectation in 6G.
- The 5G’s bandwidth capacity lies with the fact that it uses millimeter waves of radio spectrum for its high frequency. If 6G is trying to go beyond 5G, it may be using high radio frequencies because the higher you go beyond the radio spectrum, the more data you can carry. By using a high radio spectrum, 6G may also reach frequency levels of 300 GHz or terahertz ranges.
- By 2030, there will be the development of new amplify signals through which we can avoid building new 6G cell towers or other techniques for transmitting huge amounts of data. The researchers used a different kind of transmitter in 2022 that created focus beams to carry more information than 1 TB of data moved in a single second.
Do we need 6G and 7G?
The new technology raises questions when any is lacking in the existing one. 5G is in existence to access more internet for lots of people, from healthcare to business and transportation to entertainment, and if there are any more requirements beyond 5G, then 6G needs to exist.
In the same way, if 6G pitfalls in any circumstances, then 7G exists. If the manufacturers, regulators, and telecom companies keep improving 5G, then there will be no need to accept 6G.
If 5G fails to provide or improve technologies according to the needs of people, then the new technology will take place and create an advantage by providing new and improved versions of 6G.
