Kruthika Kumaran, the owner of Vilvah, began her journey by launching her company on Facebook. Vilvah is a skincare brand that has now widened its area and has covered haircare products. The company stands firm on the idea that one must work to solve a problem.
Kruthika believes that the whole skincare embracing was her mother’s idea, and for her, she worked towards creating Vilvah.
By adding the essential oils to the agricultural produce and butter, Kruthika displays that she is connected to her roots and is willing enough to prove that beauty grows best from the soil.
Vilvah Business Idea
In the market where there are products filled with chemicals for every skin and hair problem, Vilvah runs on the grounds of providing the best homemade products made with the finest raw materials and are far away from harsh chemicals and synthetic oils.
Kruthika and her mother both suffered from skin problems, and that got severed when they started using products on their face, and that’s when her mother got the idea. Though they started it by making goat milk soap bars for their use, they gradually started making them for selling.
Vilvah Business Strategy
With the motive of delivering world-class products to the Indian customers, they set some ground rules that grabbed the customers’ attention. Transparency with the products and ingredients added to the products is what they emphasizing. People should know what ingredients are in the product that they are applying to their faces.
Making the right decision is tough at times, but you always know that it’s the right one. Transparency helps earn trust and create a bond. Vilvah stands with no cruelty against animals, so it does not test its products on animals and stands against the idea.
Growth
Starting with 2-3 goats, Now Kruthika runs her business with a herd of healthy goats and is widening her business model with her agro-approach. She is now selling mascara, deodorants, serums, lipsticks, sunblock, and mosquito repellent.
An engineer by profession decided to work on cosmetics and holds a solid place in the market. She is competing well with large firms. The line-up smells good and has proved to be beneficial too. With a family background in farming in Sathyamangalam, she uses farm ingredients and not paraben and other chemicals.
After making homemade products, she started reaching towards products that are usually not made at home.
Lemongrass Mosquito repellent is safe for the sensitive skin of babies. Hand creams and sunblocks in small roll-on bars for easy-to-carry purposes and homemade mascara and lipsticks for teenage girls.
Kumaran plans to open her physical store to use biodegradable options for packing and justify her line-up.
With minimal cosmetic product use, Kumaran has a simple approach towards life, and now we know why. She does not have a beauty cream or fairness cream in her line-up, uses natural farm ingredients and fresh oils, has no animal testing, and the range of her products lies between Rs. 250-750.
