Since the blooming of Web 3.0, the entire hierarchy of work and the use of the internet took a big drift, and at the pinnacle of it were the Non Fungible Tokens or NFTs.
NFTs are non-interchangeable units of data stored on a blockchain, a form of digital ledger, that can be sold and traded. Consider an artistic painting, and we can buy it and say it is ours, but how would one say that about a digital art piece? The NFTs solve that problem.
These NFTs also give you access to an exclusive club with the others who have brought similar ones. And just like paintings cost money, so do these, and some of the richest ones are:
5. Cyberpunk #5822: Worth $23.7 million
Cyberpunk is one of a series of digital art featuring aliens with blue headbands that sold for $23.7 million in February 2022.
They are among the rare Pisces in the collection, and hence they have super sought after. They were also one of the first NFTs to blow out of the park.
4. Beeple’s Human One: Worth $28.958 million
On November 9th, 2021, Beeple’s Human One was sold for $28.958 million, and two of them made it into the top ten. This Astronaut’s digital art was one of the highlights of 2021, and according to the interview with Christe, it was closely connected to her previous work “Everyday”.
3. Clock: Worth $52.7 million
The digital art clock, a masterpiece created by Pak and Julian Assange with the intention of being a fundraiser for Assange’s legal fees, was ultimately purchased by over 10,000 people, pooling the money and helping him with his legal battle. The art piece also made them one of the biggest living artists.
2. Everyday: the first 5000 days are worth $69.3 million
Another masterpiece from Christie that rivaled her other, which was also in the top 5. It was a community tire and was a collection of 5000 art Pisces starting in 2007 and was worth 69.3 million. And in contrast to the clock, this one was sold to a single person, and I must say it is worth it.
1. Pak’s the Merge: Worth $91.8 million
On December 2nd, 2021, Pak’s masterpiece became the highest-selling NFT with almost 30,000 pieces. It is the only one, other than the clock, to have had multiple owners.
The piece had all the value it was tagged with and even more. This piece was the one that took the world by storm and put the NFT on the face of Web 3.0
After seeing this, it would be high time for the inner artist to make some masterpieces. Maybe you will be the next big thing.
