In Sanskrit, Ayurveda means the science of life. Scientists and researchers are constantly figuring out different ways to discover the mysteries of life. But the real science is diving deeper into the layers of Ayurveda.

According to Ayurveda, there are three fundamental states of a human being, such as physical, mental, and spiritual states.

It is believed that health and wellness depend on a delicate balance between these three states. The main goal should be to have good health and not to fight diseases.

Right Food Choices for Physical Health

Starting from the time we are born to the time we are old, the food we take bridges the physical and mental health gaps.

Right food habits play a crucial role to maintain a healthy lifestyle especially amid the ongoing pandemic and beyond.

The first thing to try and incorporate into every household is the consumption of organic fruits and vegetables. Eat freshly prepared meals. Go for vegetarian meals as they are lighter for digestion.

The Ayurveda expert reveals a few nutrients you must include and foods you must ideally exclude from their diet.

Foods you must include in your daily diet:

    • High fiber grains
    • Millets
    • Cooked vegetables
    • Beans and lentils
    • Eggs
    • Fruits like papaya and pomegranate
    • Freshly made vegetable soups.
    • Variety of spices like turmeric, ginger, garlic, fennel, fenugreek, coriander, and cumin.

Foods you must exclude from your daily diet:

    • Raw foods
    • Foods that are high in inflammation like sugar and sour food.
    • Processed meat
    • Foods made with white flour, cheese, and butter.

    Detoxification for Mental Health

According to the law of nature, What goes in, must come out. The air we breathe goes in, and it comes out of the lungs simultaneously in the form of carbon dioxide. The food we eat goes in, and it comes out in the form of excreta.

But in this process, what comes out are toxins. The harmful and unwanted substance within the body is known as toxins. A human body is exposed to toxins on a regular basis.

Ayurveda further suggests that we must undergo detoxification whenever our body needs to adapt to seasonal changes or there is a sign of poor digestion.

    Benefits of Detoxification

    1. It restores a natural balance between the body, mind, and spirit.
    2. It helps in weight management and improves your digestive health.
    3. Improves the biological clock of the body contributing to the proper sleeping patterns.

Ayurveda is a way of life, a daily effort inculcated in our habits. Leading a better life is not just about bringing drastic changes in our life and adopting new habits, it is also paying keen attention to our everyday routine.

With the proper guidance of ancient wisdom, we can make the right choices in our diet and lifestyle that will lead to good health and living our life to the fullest.

When the body has its overall strength lower, the immunity will naturally be lower. Ayurveda has recommended a balanced diet and detoxification for building strength which, in turn, will boost our immunity.
