Josh Hazlewood Picks 4 Wickets
The RCB batters had posted a challenging 182 target as the skipper, Faf, scored a dashing 90 odd runs and made sure that RCB overcame an early collapse where they had lost 4 wickets. The Australian fast bowler made the most of the swing and got a crucial wicket of Quinton de Kock. The South African wicket-keeper batsman has the habit of running away with the match by notching up a quick half-century.
His wicket means that KL Rahul will play slowly as he is the only proper batter present as the rest of the batters can’t play long innings of 60-80 odd runs.
Hazlewood played the role of game-changer by getting rid of the big fish, Marcus Stoinis, when the match was in a dangerous position as we all know how destructive the Australian batter can be at the death stages. His dismissal meant that RCB bagged yet another victory.
Faf plays a mind-boggling knock
The RCB skipper got himself into trouble when Virat Kohli, the former captain, got out for a golden duck after being undone by Chameera’s brilliance.
Faf took a back seat and made sure that RCB got bowled out. He reached his half-century in 40 balls, which was quite rare as he is known to play with fast hands.
Then he went into fifth gear and went after Ravi Bishnoi, ensuring that the young leg spinner didn’t have a chance to recover.
Faf went into beast mode and then it looked as if RCB’s score would be around 200+ as Dinesh Karthik was present with him. DK has played handy cameos and single-handedly won the matches for RCB this season, and already talks have started about his comeback to the national team.
The RCB Captain is trying his best to make RCB win the elusive trophy that has eluded them for a long time, and like last time, they will be wary of a bad performance that ruins all the hard work.
Virat Kohli continues his poor form
The Star RCB Batter is under the pump for not putting a fight on the show. It has been a long time since RCB fans witnessed a staggering knock and, most importantly, there seems to be no fire and passion.
RCB fans know Virat Kohli, who has amassed 900+ runs and scored 4 centuries, and till now not a single batter has attained it. There seems to be a serious problem of form for Virat, and if RCB want to win the championship, then they need him to fire quickly.
Virat’s wicket has become a gift for the opponent as he is literally throwing away the wicket and finding new reasons to get out, which is not at all for the team. If this form continues, then Mike Hesson and Faf would have to take some bold decisions as this time RCB is looking to do something big.
All in all, Virat either has to take a break of 2-3 matches just to refresh himself from all the media attention or play smart cricket like Faf, as the best way to make a comeback is to notch a ton.
