World Health Organization (WHO) has recognised Omicron as a variant of Covid-19, and it has also claimed that Omicron is more contagious. The variant can cause infections to the vaccinated people and even those who tested positive.
At the initial stage, we cannot predict the behaviour and the severity of the damage, Omicron can cause. As we are entering into the battle of the third wave, it is high time to realise that we have successfully survived till now. There is nothing to worry about until you learn from your past mistakes.
Someone has rightly said, “Prevention is better than cure”. Accordingly, we must avoid dangerous treatments and focus mainly on the precautions we can follow to protect ourselves from this infection.
Stay Psychologically Strong
Focus on staying strong amidst the panic. Everyone is actively consuming social media and online news platforms for the recent update. It may impact you psychologically, lessen your strength to fight, and gradually affect your inherent immunity.
If the news is getting noisy, take a break. Stay away from gadgets and involve yourself in reading a book, writing down your thoughts, grounding with the Earth and other mindful activities.
Eat Nutrition-Rich Food
The food we eat plays a crucial role in maintaining our metabolism. Our body is nothing but the pile of food we have eaten for years. Eat wholesome, plenty of strength building and fresh home-cooked food in your diet.
It is advisable to take meals at regular intervals. Include liquid like fresh juice or coconut water twice a day to catalyze your digestion.
Follow Proper Sleep Regime
It is okay to feel stressed in these uncertain times, but it directly or indirectly affects our sleeping patterns. Identifying your safe spaces and setting aside some “me” time to reduce anxiety can help maintain your sleep schedule.
The amount of sleep a healthy adult needs is seven to eight hours. Most of us do not have time to achieve this goal. Be with people who can help you change your mood and focus on the positive.
Going to bed and getting up at the same time will improve your sleep-wake cycle. In this case, six hours of sleep is fair enough.
Practice Yoga and Regular Exercise
Apart from keeping your immunity high and stress levels checked, it is necessary to manage your chronic diseases like diabetes, seasonal asthma, obesity and many more. Moreover, psychological health and physiological health are interlinked.
Regular exercise adds strength and flexibility to our bodies. Yoga, along with deep breathing techniques, will help us improve the functioning of our organs.
Maintain Proper Hygiene
Last but not least, keep one hand distance from others, wear a well-fitted mask at all times and avoid social gatherings at poorly ventilated or crowded places. Make sure your indoors have proper ventilation too. Keep your hands clean and maintain hygiene to save yourself from any covid infections.
These are some measures that should be primarily taken to avoid the chance of getting infected against covid-19 pandemic. Others safety is as much important as ours. Everyone is facing the same adversities, and please understand that We are not alone, We are together. In these uncertain times, We will fight together and survive together.
