Have you ever considered Network Marketing?
Is it a Scam? Is there any profit in Direct Selling? Can I join Network Marketing and make it a full-time career? There are a lot of questions surrounding Network Marketing.
In this, I’ll try to analyze and see Network Marketing as a Career. You will see many videos online where people claim they earn 5 lacs, 6 lacs, 7 lacs a month through network marketing.
You might even hear quotes such as,
Network marketing is the fastest growing Business of the 21st century which must be joined by every young man and woman globally; otherwise, you can never get the best of your young age.
Dr APJ Abdul Kalam
Or the Bill gates infamous quote,
If I were given a chance to start all over again, I would choose Network Marketing
Bill Gates
The fun part about this is, you’ll never really find the accurate quote from an authentic platform or website, but only on Network Marketing Websites, where they edit out the context making it look like these people are praising Network Marketing.
It might make you consider it as a career. So let’s do a little study to find out if it is a good career.
Share Price of MLM companies.
No one considers this when they join Network Marketing, but if you google the share price of MLM companies, you’ll realize why it is a bad idea to join them.
The share price of these companies is high when they are new, but they decrease as time passes. Companies such as Amway and Tupperware are out of Business now.
Think about how many people might have lost their livelihood because of this.
It is not a stable career.
You cannot name an MLM company from the past, and these companies can’t live beyond 2 decades, then they slowly start to fade.
MLM company prices are always either low or negative. You’ll never see an MLM company worth beyond roughly ₹ 60 crores.
Vestige is a big network marketing platform. You can also call them the face of MLM in India, but their company is only worth ₹ 50 crores which might sound a lot, but it sums up to nothing compared to other companies that are not MLM.
They are all Millionaires, but are they?
The main attraction that makes people join MLM is the amount the people in MLM earn.
You might see the videos in which they show you a grainy image of their houses, cars and whatnot.
But the problem with this is, is a grainy image proof of anything? It cannot be.
They tell you they have this car, house, and refrigerator, but they can’t prove it.
They have no proof of their earnings either. Think about it, if a person is earning millions of rupees a month, wouldn’t they pay huge Income taxes? Wouldn’t they become more involved in Mainstream media? Won’t they be hanging out with celebrities?
Most importantly, if a country has that amount of millionaires, wouldn’t that country’s economy be blooming? But it isn’t.
The problem is it isn’t. Trust Me, Bro! Is not reliable proof.
And no, an isolated incident of a person becoming a billionaire is not a good argument. If an industry is really that profitable, there will be loads of billionaires, with proof, in that industry like the Tech Industry or Automobile Industry.
Most of The Time It’s a Scam.
Most of the time, the companies are a scam.
I had talked about Amway and Tupperware being dead now. The MLM companies will not tell you this, but they were banned in India in the early 2000s because they were a scam?
And these two were the face of MLM back then.
These companies are primarily scams, they get banned, and people lose all their money, not the ideal stable job, I guess.
What happens is they end up becoming a Pyramid scheme or something else, and they cannot be relied on. And that’s the issue.
Their Legality is uncertain.
The other problem with MLM is governments are uncertain about the Legality of the industry, and it is not yet clear whether to legalize it or not.
And this should already make you consider participating in MLM because think about it, what if the government bans MLM, all the people who are part of it will lose their livelihood in seconds.
I think it is clear by this point MLM is not a stable career.
They are sketchy when inviting you to join.
If you have ever got a call from someone selling MLM, you know what I am talking about. Tell me, which Business invites you to join and doesn’t let you consult anyone? Fraudulent Companies, right?
And that’s the problem, which also causes the above-discussed issue.
There are Other ways of Becoming rich with no experience.
There might still be some of you who might say, but still, I have no experience in anything, and Direct selling needs no experience, but I can still earn something, even if the company is banned or closed, I will have money in my hand, won’t I?
If you are one of those, here’s another opportunity for you to become rich without any fear of it being a scam or getting directly affected by a company getting closed or banned.
You might have seen this photo of PM Modi in many memes online. The person on the right is Mr Rakesh JhunJhunwala, here’s why this man is important, he earns ₹ 8 crores a day! Read that again.
Yes, he earns 8 crores a day! Tell an MLM entrepreneur to beat that! They can’t. Do you want to know what he does?
He is an investor in the Stock Market.
Stock Market.
Stock Market has its own set of risks, but they are nothing compared to MLM; you can at least be sure they won’t end up being a scam.
See, what is Network Marketing? You are just investing your money in a Company and asking others to join.
The Stock Market is the same, except you don’t have to sell anything or just invest in one company.
Also, do you know how many companies and stocks you can buy by investing ₹15,000 in the Stock Market?
You don’t need experience for investing, and you need a brain, which explains why many people prefer MLM instead of Stock Market.
On that note, I’ll end my article here. I hope you found it helpful, don’t fall for scams; use your money safely.
