How did it Start?
In his earlier days, Neeraj Gupta started and founded a V- link group in the year 2000. He started the company as a staff transportation business. After a few years, V-Link Fleet Solutions expanded its business and provided services to clients in the BPO (Business process outsourcing)corporate sector.
When the company started to grow with 1300 taxi services, Maharashtra Government decided to invite the tenders to fleet 10,000 taxis to replace yellow cabs; V-Link collaborated with India Value Fund, a VC company, to form the Meru Cab organization.
Meru was launched in Mumbai, offering AC cabs to Indian people for the first time with investment and funding of around INR 500 million. It has a call booking system with electronic meters and GPS/GPRS system cabs.
In a short time, i.e. by 2010, Meru scaled up its company’s services to the top four cities of India – Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore and Kolkata, with a fleet of around 5000 cabs. Now the Meru Cabs Company was Acquired by Tech Mahindra Group.

Business Models of Meru Cabs
It’s a known fact that Meru Cab owns around 12% of the market share compared to other cab service companies and organizations.
So let us understand the business model of Meru Cab.
Meru organization buys the car and gives it to the driver. The driver deposits Rs 10,000. Meru trains the driver on soft skills.. According to the policy of Meru Cabs, drivers should have at least three years of driving experience and have a basic knowledge of reading and communication skills of English.
The drivers must carry out the fuel cost of cabs. All the maintenance charge of the car is taken care of by Meru.
After that, the driver is assigned a ride from the call centre of Meru organization through the GPS navigation system so that to ignore calls from the call centre becomes negligible.
In return, the driver provides Rs. 1000-1200 per day to Meru.

3. If the server is broken, then it becomes difficult for the user to connect and book the cab
