Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp will not be there at Stamford Bridge on Sunday when the Reds take on second-placed Chelsea in a crucial Premier League fixture. Klopp has gone into seclusion after declaring modest COVID19- symptoms.

Peijn Lijnders, Liverpool’s assistant manager, will take command of the urgent meeting between the higher-ranked factions. According to the Merseyside club, Klopp has been placed in segregation after displaying mild symptoms.

    Liverpool’s Statement

“Except for the three confirmed by Klopp on Friday, testing of the whole first-team set-up has shown no more specific instances among the playing crew,” Liverpool stated in a statement.

“Three private cabin crew members have returned with anticipated favourable outcomes,” it added.

On Friday, Jurgen Klopp stated that three players and several staff members had tested positive for the illness but were too early to request a postponement from the Premier League.

Since last month, the league has postponed 18 games, including Liverpool’s Boxing Day clash with Leeds United, because of COVID-19 events and injuries at a few clubs, leaving them with insufficient players to fulfil rules.

    Players Out for COVID-19

Liverpool was forced to segregate Virgil van Dijk, Thiago Alcantara, Fabinho, and Curtis Jones after testing positive for COVID-19. The foursome just resumed their preparations.

    Players Out Injured

Thiago Alcantara, the Spanish midfielder, is now out with a hip injury. Takumi Minamino left the game against Leicester City on December 28th due to mild muscular soreness.

Divock Origi last appeared for Liverpool in the Champions League on December 7th against AC Milan. Nathaniel Phillips will be out until January after breaking his cheekbone against AC Milan in the last game of the Champions League group stage.

Adrian was expected to be back in training ahead of the Premier League match against Chelsea after missing most of December with a calf injury.

On September 12th, Harvey Elliott suffered a legitimate lower leg injury while playing for Leeds United.

    Player Suspended

Andy Robertson has completed the first two rounds of a three-match ban for his red card against Tottenham Hotspur on December 19th. He will also be out against Chelsea on Sunday.

    Premier League Standing

Liverpool is 3rd in the Premier League standings after 18 games, with 41 points behind second-placed Chelsea but with a game in hand.

    Upcoming Games for Liverpool

They will face Chelsea on Sunday at Stamford Bridge, and they will face Arsenal on Friday in the EFL semi-final match. It’s hard for coach Klopp to manage with players out injured and having COVID-19 symptoms.
