    IPL is a very big thing to Indian fans, and its warmth is already hype. As you know, 30th November was the last date given by authorities to franchises to retain players. Finally, all 8 teams are done with their retention. As per the retention rule, each team can retain a maximum of 4 players, including 3 Indians and 1 overseas or 2:2.

    This article is all about the retained players of a team, their price, and the current team budget.

    Players retained by Rajasthan Royals.

    Sanju Samson (14 crores)
    Jos Butler (10 crores)
    Yashasvi Jaiswal ( 4 crores)
    Sanju Samson has been loyal to the Rajasthan franchise for years, and Rajasthan Royals paid him off for his loyalty by retaining him at first on the list. Including Jos Butler, Rajasthan believed in the fresh talent Yashasvi Jaiswal who was magnificent last year.

    Players retained by Delhi Capitals.

    Axar Patel (9 crores, 12 crores will get deducted from valet)
    Prithvi Shaw (8 crores )
    Anrich Nortje (6.5 crores )
    Delhi Capitals don’t want his last season’s captain to go anywhere else. Hence in the retention list, they retained Rishab Pant and included Pant, in-form slow left-arm Orthodox Axar Patel, Prithvi Shaw, and Anrich Nortje retained as well.

    It was supposed to be MS Dhoni on the first in the retention list, but Dhoni impressed his fans again with his gesture. Dhoni asked to put Jadeja on the priority list before him, as Mahi is unsure how long he can serve in the yellow jersey.

    Players retained by Sun Risers Hyderabad.

    Abdul Samad (4 crores )
    Umran Malik (4 crores )
    Including captain Kane Williamson, Hyderabad retained fresh talent, Kashmiri boys Abdul Samad and Umran Malik.

    Players retained by Punjab Kings.

    Mayank Agarwal (12 crores, 14 crores will be deducted from wallet )
    Arshdeep Singh (4 crores )
    Punjab badly wanted KL Rahul in the squad. However, the talented Punjab Kings captain of the past has different plans. Punjab has other options, but they chose to go with Mayank Agarwal and Arshdeep Singh.

    Captain Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, and Kieron Pollard. Mumbai retained the fans, their all-time favourite players. Instead of Hardik Pandya this season, Mumbai Indians will go with Suryakumar Yadav.

    Players retained by Royal Challengers Bangalore.

    Virat Kohli (15 crores )
    Glenn Maxwell (11 crores)
    M. Siraj (7 crores )
    We can not imagine Royal Challengers Bangalore without Virat Kohli, and neither can the Bangalore team. Like all seasons, Bangalore retained Kohli for this season as well.
    Including Virat Kohli, they retained M. Siraj and star of the last season, Glenn Maxwell.

    These are the players who got retained by franchises. However, the big names like KL Rahul, Hardik Pandya, Shreyash Iyer, Suresh Raina, Shardul Thakur, and many like them are released by their franchises for auction.
