CSK finally broke their losing streak as now they have opened their account in Tata IPL 2022. CSK had a lot of positive points as they got their batting together as they posted a total of over 200+ and most importantly, there were shades of CSK 2021 where they were ruthless and were absolutely bossing the matches.
CSK would be worried as they don’t have a proper new ball bowler as Deepak Chahar is almost out of the entire IPL with an injury. They tried using Jordan as a new ball bowler, but he was seen as expensive and CSK management is still searching for that bowler.
All in all, CSK still has a lot to ponder as winning one match doesn’t mean that everything is nice as there is still a lot to attain.
Robin Uthappa and Shivam Dube on fire
CSK management surprised everyone by sending Shivam Dube at the top instead of the experienced campaigner Ambati Rayudu. We all know how destructive Rayudu can be when it is a do-or-die situation, yet CSK sent Dube.
The right-hand-left-hand combination did wonders as they took on every bowler and there were just raining boundaries from the 11th over. The score was 60 for the loss of 2 wickets at the end of the 10th over.
It appeared that CSK would reach 160 and give RCB a strong chance to stamp their authority, but the duo delivered lethal hitting. 17 sixes were stuck amongst themselves, and they just played with Faf’s bowling changes and captaincy as every field placement was a joke.
Shivam Dube scored 95 runs in 46 balls, whereas Uthappa scored 88 runs in 50 balls as there was carnage at the D.Y. Patil Stadium. All in all, CSK made a resounding statement that they are back and are here to stay longer than ever.
Maheesh Theekshana and Ravindra Jadeja spun a web
The two spinners took 7 wickets between themselves and made life tougher for the RCB batters. Captain Jadeja got rid of the swashbuckling batter Glenn Maxwell by casting his stumps and Theekshana broke the back of RCB’s run-chase as he took 4 wickets, which included one of the big fish, Faf.
Overall, the spinners annihilated the RCB batting lineup, conceding 72 runs from 8 overs, including 7 wickets which should not be overlooked.
Virat Kohli’s poor form continues in Tata IPL 2022
The right-handed batter who was once known to be a dangerous cricketer has lost his form. In the match against CSK, he was dismissed for 1 that too inside 4 deliveries. It has been seen that Virat has been out of form since a lot of time.
All in all, RCB fans are missing the Virat Kohli of 2016, who had amassed 900+ runs and had scored 4 centuries. Till now not a single batter has scored 4 centuries in the IPL.
If RCB is to win the elusive trophy, Virat Kohli must step up; right now, his presence is lacking as the bowler is picking up wickets with ease, getting run out, and, most importantly, there is no fear factor among the opposing team’s players.
