IPL 2022 started with the match between last year’s finalists. Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders played against each other in the first match at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
The best T20 league in the world has been underway for a week, and fans have already seen some exciting matches. There have been both high-scoring and low-scoring thrillers so far in the 2022 tournament.

The First Week of the IPL Produced New Super Stars:
Tilak Varma:
Mumbai Indians have bought a 19-year-old player for Rs 1.7 crore in the IPL 2022 auction. Tilak Varma scored 22 off 15 balls in the first match.
In the next match, he scored 61 off 33 balls against a quality Rajasthan Royals bowling attack. He attacked Yuzi Chahal and R Ashwin and scored 21 off 12 balls in Chahal’s bowling and 19 off 10 balls in Ashwin’s bowling.
Ayush Badoni:
The Lucknow Super Giants bought the 22-year-old player at a base price in the IPL 2022 auction. He played his first game with the Gujarat Lions.
Ayush started very slowly in that match, scoring just 13 off 22 balls and 41 off the next 19 balls. In the second match, his team had to chase 40 off 16 balls, when he came to the crease.
He showed maturity and played safely against the experienced Bravo and attacked young bowlers. He finished the match with 19 off 9 balls.
Bhanuka Rajapaksa:
Hard-hitting left-handed batsmen showed their intent in this IPL. In the first match, he scored 43 off 22 balls in a high-scoring match against RCB.
In the second match against KKR, he scored 31 off just 9 balls. He made 22 off the first 4 balls bowled by Shivam Mavi and was dismissed on the 5th ball. He is showing his aggression. He scored 83 off 36 balls, 230+ SR in this IPL.
Vaibhav Arora:
The 24-year-old right-arm medium pacer was bought by the Punjab Kings for ₹2 crores. He played his first IPL game this season. Immediately, he showed results. He bowled superbly against the Chennai Super Kings.
In his spell, he gave only 21 runs in 4 overs and took 2 important wickets. He dismissed Robin Uthappa and Moeen Ali. He mixed both inswingers and outswingers, and batsmen struggled to pick him.
