Rivals are ready to pounce for the signature, as the German enters the final 15 months of his contract
According to Goal, Bayern Munich is in talks with Serge Gnabry over a new contract, with a deal appearing to be a distinct possibility. Gnabry’s current contract at the Allianz Arena is bound to expire at the end of the 2022-23 season.
For the last six months, Gnabry has been in negotiations with German Champions about extending his contract. As Bayern attempts to negotiate a new contract, there is a lack of clarity concerning his contract renewal negotiation.
The German is said to be demanding a salary of €15 million per year before taxes. The German winger is attempting to achieve wage parity with Leroy Sane and Kingsley Coman.
Serge Gnabry is supposedly weighing his options after gaining attention from several European teams, notably Liverpool, Juventus, and Real Madrid.
Real Madrid has been keeping a close watch on the German winger and has made contact with his representatives to inquire about his availability, with the winger reportedly open to a summer transfer.
Liverpool looking for the Alternatives
With Les Parisiens forward Kylian Mbappe expected to join Spanish giants Real Madrid, Premier League runners-up Liverpool see him as an ideal candidate and less expensive alternative to replacing Mohamed Salah.
If their talisman and top scorer does not agree to a contract extension as he approaches the end of his contract with only one year remaining.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is a ‘keen admirer,’ according to Goal, and views him as a likely replacement for Salah if the Egyptian leaves Anfield.
When addressing the crowd ahead of his side’s Champions League encounter against Benfica, Klopp stated that he is pleased with how contract discussions are developing with the player.
However, unless an agreement is reached, the Reds’ winger’s departure from the Merseyside club remains a possibility.
Liverpool must be prepared for his departure since he is a vital element and paramount to the Liverpool squad structure. For the Reds, Gnabry could perhaps be the guy to take over on the right side of the front three.

Gnabry played as teenager earlier for Liverpool Side
Gnabry also has played in the Premier League, having previously represented Arsenal’s youth squad as a teenager. He had a brief spell with West Bromwich Albion, but things did not go as per the plans for the German International.
While the 26-year-old has yet to prove his worth in the Premier League, he has put in a series of brilliant performances in the Bundesliga with Werder Bremen before moving to the Allianz Arena, where he has flourished and has been their main man alongside Polish International Robert Lewandowski.
With 61 goals and 40 assists in 163 appearances for Bayern Munich, Gnabry has reinvented himself from being labelled ‘a flop’ at Arsenal to be one of Europe’s top wingers.
In his last six years with German clubs, including Werder Bremen and Hoffenheim, and the last four seasons with Bayern Munich.
The German international has scored at least 10 league goals in each campaign. This season, the former Arsenal man has 14 goals and 10 assists in all competitions.
Nagelsmann is confident over the contract renewal
Bayern Manager Nagelsmann spoke openly about the winger’s contract status after he scored and assisted in Bayern’s 4-1 win over Freiburg last weekend.
When speaking to reporters (via GGFN), Nagelsmann expressed confidence in Gnabry’s staying in Bavaria beyond the present campaign. He also stated that Gnabry has all the necessary ingredients to succeed at Bayern. He added
“I’m very confident that he’ll stay. I think from a football point of view he has everything that he needs. He has a coach that likes him as a person and as a player and he has teammates whom he gets along with very well privately.”
“He feels very comfortable here, it’s a matter of talks between the club and the manager, but I do believe that we’ll find a solution.”
