It’s great news for all the football fans who love to enjoy and explore their amusement by watching football matches because FIFA has announced the launch of a big football entertainment platform, FIFA+, to connect its fans. FIFA + is an OTT platform that everyone can easily access through their phones.
FIFA + will provide a wide range of football matches that fans can view from any corner of the world. It includes tournaments, live updates, news, and video content of all matches between men’s and women’s teams. FIFA is the first online OTT platform to launch this federation before anyone in the world.
During a press release, FIFA admitted that by the end of 2022, FIFA+ will stream 40000 or equivalent of its live games, which also includes 11,000 women’s matches from 100 member associations across all six confederations.
PURPOSE TO LAUNCH
The primary source of revenue for the men’s world cup is the television broadcast rights, and FIFA+, at present, does not charge anything for the content from its users, but it is an advertising-funded platform, so through advertising, it can add revenue to its association.
FIFA has stepped a great forward by launching FIFA+ to popularize sports and provide an eminent experience to its fans, and it is a great change from being just a sports association to sharing an equal platform with other OTTs like Netflix, Disney Hotstar and many more.
THE VISION AND MISSION
As per FIFA president Gianni Infantino, FIFA+ will represent the vision of different types of football matches and its mission is to expand and develop football globally.
He also said that FIFA+ is programmed in such a way that different types of football fans can connect, which represents a cultural shift.
It is considered the fundamental part of his vision for 2020-2023, It will accelerate the democratization of football and they are fortunate to share this with their fans.
FIFA+ TO SCREEN LIVE MATCHES, DOCUMENTARIES, NEWS, AND GAMES
Around 1400 matches will be streamed live every month on FIFA+. It broadcasts live coverage of everything from Europe’s top leagues to previously unaired competitions for men, women, and youth football worldwide.
FIFA+ will feature a feature-length documentary called “Ronaldino-The Happiest Man in the World” that includes the story of an iconic player who rose from the slums of Brazil to become one of the topmost players in football, directed by Stuart and Andrew Douglas.
The new launch also unveils the show “all-access’’ series of six 30-minute shows which feature Brazil defender Dani Alves. The show will be directed by his own production house, Maracana Media.
