Do Fast Chargers, and Fast Charging Makes Sense from
Whooping Batteries to superfast Chargers!
Explained! How to save your smartphones
When I was a kid, I still remember using 5V chargers with 350 milliamperes with 5V output, but times have changed so rapidly that it has been upgraded to 3Amp charges with humongous 5v/9v and 12v chargers that can deliver up to nearly 30watts of input to the device and up to 100 of its little cry. Isn’t it right?
So there is a proverb and a saying that goes this way: speed thrills, but it kills. The same applies to fast charges and the fast charging technology adopted in smartphones.
Phones from the golden age like Nokia, Samsung, and Sony with little keypads are still in working condition after a decade of use, but our costly phones are not even able to give a decade’s worth of use like those older phones.
So let’s talk about how fast, rapid, quick, and adaptive are different names for different brands, but the same principles apply here. So what do they do? They charge mobile phones in 3 phases: slow, medium, and rapid.
They pump more energy into the batteries in the starting phases, and at the end, they charge the batteries in slow mode, so the main problem starts here.
Keep in mind that heat is like a chain reaction. In the primary phase of battery charging, mobile phones start to dissipate lots of heat, which puts lots of pressure on their circuitry and components.
Fast charging does charge the phone faster, but there is a glitch here, i.e., it is called “Pseudo Charging.” So here you need to know one thing.
How do batteries work?
So the flow of charge from positive to negative is what we call charge. When we charge the battery at high speeds, some ions in the battery are tripped due to the fast flow of current, which results in pseudo-charging.
Reason: Fast charging lasts less than slow charging in terms of battery backup. The faster you charge the device, the more heat it produces. More heat will always result in degradation in the end.
So how to save your smartphone and extend its battery life span and longevity? Pretty simple.
1. Don’t charge your mobile in a single go from 1 to 100.
2. Keep it between 30 and 78 charges precisely.
3. Don’t use fast charges unless it’s required.
4. Use 5v/2amp or 5v/3amp chargers.
5. Use quality cables. Always go for brands.
6. Use quality charges from major brands You can always use Samsung’s old chargers lying around your home that came with the Samsung Keypad mobiles.
7. Last but not least, use fast chargers with caution.
