Founded by and led by a strong woman, Bhavini Parikh, who is paving the way for other women and is a true leader in every way with her idea, missions, and contributions.
Every new creation method brings a lot of attention, so Bunko Junko is gaining much support from the people.
About the company
With the mission’s launch, Bunko Junko contributes a small part to the ground they stand and support. They work for the upliftment of women and empower them.
The skills needed for the task are basic stitching and tailoring, and the brand is helping rural women get the hang of it. They guide them and support them for their living.
By the mission to create from the waste and used, Bunko Junko is inclined towards saving the environment and sustainability.
How is upcycling different from recycling?
Upcycling uses the waste material and reuses it to create a new product of much higher value than earlier. In contrast, recycling reuses the waste material to create a lower value product.
Bunko Junko is creating a products such as home furnishing, clothes, accessories, office stationery, masks, bags, and toys, all reused and made from textile wasting that are of higher value than the original textile.
Business Model
It is a B2C and BCB business model that was founded in 2018 and is supported by Indian Oil, Bharat Furnishings, Vivah Borders, Novo Nordisk, Mahalaxmi, Ethnicity, and Nylangan with total funding of $96.0k.
Policy
Bunko Junko works on a zero-waste policy that ensures no textile piece is wasted. The brand constructs and designs the chic artist pieces using industrial waste and sustainable material.
Every product that they create is different from each other. The mindset with which the products are made is clothes for all and comfortability.
The scarps are segregated based on colour and fabrics, and then the label provides wears that match but are different in design and stories.
In the beginning, Bunko Junko was a group of 1500 women who were working on getting their living. But, the pandemic has brought a sudden decline in the number because some women went back to their hometowns and had reasons.
By gathering ideas from freelance designers, they shape the clothes, and hence, a piece is prepared, a beautiful, chic, and unique piece.
With My Chapter One and MoWo Social Initiative, Bunko Junko received a grant of ₹ 7 lacs from Visa in a program in partnership with IFundWomen.
Visa received a lot of applications from a lot of businesses in the fashion, healthcare, and food and beverages sector. After taking a jury voting, winners were announced.
Conclusion
Bunko Junko is led by a strong woman who is working on creating platforms for many women.
With the increasing consumerism, the brand is promoting the idea of upcycling, which will be a base for future manufacturing.
They are launching amazing projects such as Darwin Installation and Kala Ghoda Festival.
