Bewakoof.com is a fashion, E-commerce platform selling Men’s and Women’s apparel and other products like mobile phones. Two Civil Engineers from IIT Bombay founded the company. Bewakoof has paved its path to success because of its unique idea of including humour in people’s day-to-day outfits.
Bewakoof has become famous amongst millennials as the apparel on the site relates to college-goers. Turning our everyday conversations into short phrases for our outfits has caught the eye of this generation.
Meet the Founders
Prabhkiran Singh and Siddharth Munot are the founders of ‘Bewakoof’. It was founded on 1st April 2012, headquartered in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.
Prabhkiran and Siddharth, both civil engineers from IIT Bombay, always wanted to start something of their own and become successful entrepreneurs. After graduating, both went separate ways with their choices of careers.
Prabhkiran started Khadke gLassi, which didn’t go well and shut down. Siddharth was working with an educational startup.
After not much satisfaction in their respective careers, both decide to start their own t-shirt printing business.
Tagline
Bewakoof – Allowing the youth to be fashionably silly – (A Bewakoof follows his heart). This tagline came to them when they were brainstorming ideas for their venture.
They wanted to do something unique, quirky, and something that stands out. They came across the domain bewakoof.com which they immediately picked as it resonates with their idea.
Bewakoof is the Hindi word for someone who doesn’t behave or do things normally or does the way society wants them to. With this name, they could create a peculiar brand for their venture. Bewakoof.com wanted to show people that being unique can be great too. Which they have proved, given the popularity it has gained today.
Bewakoof.com has become very popular with this generation as the t-shirts have unique, amusing, and relatable designs printed on them. After taking from various college scenarios, this outstanding idea has proven to be a “people ’s-go-to” site.
Bewakoof Business Model
With a 360-degree view business model, Bewakoof looks into everything from designing, production, warehousing to online brand marketing. This Mumbai-based venture is the only one that produces and markets its brand, with the youth being its target audience.
Fundings & Investments:
Bewakoof has proud investors such as Snapdeal, IvyCap Ventures, Investcorp Gulf Investments. They records an estimated annual revenue of $15.1 million.
This fast-growing venture has raised a total of $24.6 million. This includes the Pre-series B round of $8.8 million, which they raised with the help of Investcorp.
Vision and Achievements
The sole reason for starting Bewakoof was to connect with the millennials and include humour in people’s lives. The vision of Bewakoof is to provide eye-catching wearable products at affordable rates.
Bewakoof experiments with fashion wearables by including trendy quotes on their t-shirts and wearables. One just cannot get enough of their merchandise and have to buy their products once they skim through their website.

- The brand has more than 3000 stylish trends.
- Their merchandise is shipped across 19,000 PIN codes throughout India.
- It has 150,000 social media subscribers, including 40.1 lakh FB followers, 8,700 active Twitter followers, and 2.39 lakh Instagram followers.
Future Plan
On July 13, 2021, Bewakoof announced the launch of Cosmos Beauty. With this, they aim to step into the Beauty and Cosmetic products world.
The name is cosmos because their beauty products are natural ingredients and minerals. Cosmos beauty will begin its journey with 43 products, including day and night creams, serums, etc.
