Android is one of the most in-demand smartphones operating systems developed by Google and used by more than 3 billion people globally. Slight changes that take place in this OS potentially influence millions of users.
Android 12 may be released on October 4th, according to an internal document shared by XDA Developers. It will give neck-to-neck competition for the iPhone iOS 15.
Google is pleasantly surprising smartphone users with the major changes. The way android looks are completely different with amazing UI. New home screen widget style, increased animation, and larger buttons are the major operating system refresh introduced to the public, known as the ‘Material You’ (material design language).
The first developer of Android 12 was released in this first preview that rolled out on the 18th of February 2021. The minor issues and bugs faced by the users using this first developer were addressed by Google that released a smaller patch.
Preview 2 and 3 of this android version took place on March 17th and April 21st of 2021, respectively, with additional performance, stability, behavioural additions, and APIs.

The Beta 1 version preview was released in May to procure feedback from these Beta Users to start early testing, keeping Android 12 in mind. This version is also available as GSI. Beta 1 can be flashed among the phones mentioned below:
- Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro
- TCL 20 PRO SG
- ASUS ZenFone 8
- One Plus 9 and Pro and many more other smartphones.
The Beta versions were further released in June and July with additional compatibility testing and feedbacks following the Beta 4 release in August. The final application testing took place during the preview of Beta 4, including Libraries and SDKs. Any issues faced by users were notified to its developers.

The device used by each individual will be the base for the update. The devices which will be officially updated with this version are Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL, Pixel 4, Pixel 4 XL, Pixel 5, Pixel 4a, Pixel 3a XL, Pixel 3XL, and Pixel 4a 5G.
Post the release cycle, and these smartphones will be updated. Google website will host official packages for the latest Android 12 download.
