Consider this scenario: You wake up in a world where all of the world’s technology has vanished. First and foremost, you’d be late for work due to the lack of a mobile alarm.
Once the initial shock of the situation had worn off, you’d begin getting ready for work.
Unfortunately, you wouldn’t be able to turn on the lights, bathe, or clean your teeth. Why? Electricity, gas, and water are all utilities that are run by large computer systems.
Then you’ll get dressed and drive outside in your car. It wouldn’t start. Today, a controller localization network controls almost everything in a vehicle (basically a PC onboard).
Even if your car started, traffic might be a nightmare with everyone turning off their lights. Your day without technology doesn’t always start well!
From Traditional Times to the Present Era
Things used to be different decades ago. It was a time when people could get by without using contemporary technology.
It is not that we use technology; we live in technology.

Heliography was one of the unique means of communicating over long distances. A tool that was used to reflect sunlight to warn the fellowship/allies of an invasion or a call for help etc.
Besides mere warnings, heliographs were also used to convey decent messages. Over time, people have invented different tools to communicate over long distances. Nowadays, mobile phones are everyone’s need, irrespective of the country.
Before the 1930s, people went to the cinema to watch their favourite dramas. People physically attend plays for entertainment.
People used to play physical games, such as sports, before computers, cell phones, and consoles were invented.
Sports are still popular all around the world, although the number of spectators has steadily declined over time. You can now watch all of the children and teenagers playing on various consoles, computers, and mobile devices.
The Advantages of a Day Without Technology:
1. Meditate
When we wake up, the first thing we do is turn on the computer/phone, go to Instagram, or check our emails.
This time, wash up, brush your teeth, and find a comfortable position to meditate. It will be difficult at first, but let go and let the wonderful chirping of the birds, the wind’s whistling, and the feeling of a new morning wash over you.
2. Eat… While Eating!
When was the last time you ate without staring at a screen? This time, put your phone aside and have breakfast, dinner, or a snack. When you eat, appreciate the flavor of the food you’re eating, cherish it, and be grateful for it.
3. Meet
Many of us belong to a group of friends, such as classmates, college friends, or members of a specific club. However, we prefer to contact one another through video and phone calls.
But this time, inquire about their lives and provide an ear to their woes and problems. It’s preferable to do it in person rather than over the phone because feelings are essential.
4. Just Be in the Moment
Life’s happening in front of you, but we are too busy scrolling through our phones. But this time, take time to smell the roses.
Can We Survive Without Technology?
Around 7 billion people throughout the world use technology. It simplifies their work and personal lives. These people would most likely admit that physical survival can be achieved without the use of technology. Technology, thankfully, is available everywhere. So we can’t survive without technology.
I have to regularly check my Snapchat, Instagram, and WhatsApp for messages from my friends. Even if I don’t check social media, I will probably play casual games on my Android phone to distract myself from all the stress and negative thoughts. Overall, I can’t survive without my phone.
