The U.S based Thrasio, which picks up merchants from the Amazon list and has already taken more than a hundred sellers, is also planning on entering India.
BUSINESS MODEL
Mensa’s firm model includes investing working capital and equity from other D2C startups and scaling their business on the digital platform. The platform actually helps to increase growth, access to the international market, technology, supply chain, product.
Total funding of about $218 million, Mensa has entered the unicorn market in just six months. The fastest company to hit the threshold after closing the $135 million Series B funding.
The company is planning on closing twenty new deals. The existing investors are Accel Partners, Tiger Global, and Norwest Venture Partners.
ACQUISITION
Mensa Brands has recently acquired a leather brand Estalon and has marked its fifteenth buy for an undisclosed amount.
Estalon is a family-owned firm that has run through three generations of their family with their ever-strong leather product line. The line has decades of experience in manufacturing, and now they have Mensa with the technology and strong digital access to the world.
The founder and CEO of Mensa, Ananth Narayanan, has marked a timeline of three to five years to achieve a high growth rate of about five times.
Earlier, the brand has acquired Mumbai-centered home décor brand Folkulture, and in the same month, they acquired High Star of the same category, Home décor and kitchenware.
